At this time Muldrew remains in its operating zone, the lake level is slightly above the target level for this time of year. I have included a copy of the operating plan rule curve below – in the chart  below you’ll see the target level in green, and the operating zones in yellow. The target level is a guideline as there are many impacts that will influence lake levels daily. The chart shows that the current lake level is slightly above target, but well within its operating zone. A crew was in the field and collected a physical reading of the lake level to ensure it aligned with the lake level reading taken from the electronic gauge.

Muldrew Lake water levels are about 30 cm above the normal spring peak and have stabilized over the past day or so.

All the logs are normally removed from the dam in the fall and only replaced in the spring once water levels drop to the summer target – there are no logs in the dam at this time. Crews are monitoring the dam for debris and obstructions on a regular basis to ensure the dam continues to function as designed.

Water levels are higher than normal and there is a Flood Warning in effect for the area. Flood Warnings are available for viewing on the Surface Water Monitoring Centre Ontario Flood Map page: https://www.lioapplications.lrc.gov.on.ca/webapps/swmc/flood-forecasting-and-warning-program/
